1965 Jaguar 3.8 s

New to the group. I need a blank key (3) for 1965 Jaguar 3.8s key# B62DP. Anybody know who has them?

I am an owner of a 1965 3.8S and that does not sound like a correct key number for that car. My car has key numbers beginning with FS and followed by three numbers the first being a 9. The key number for the ignition and front doors is stamped on the lock barrel of the ignition switch. The glove box and boot are different from the ignition/doors. For blanks you might contact Triple C Motoring accessories at https://www.triple-c.com/Keys_-_Replacements.cfm?page=3. Their website seems to indicate they cut keys to specific key numbers.

Mine is a 1968 Daimler V8-250 and the key arrangement is different.

My glove box key fits the two front doors and the boot (trunk) as well, with the other key only fitting the ignition.

My car might be different because it’s a different model or because a previous owner has changed the locks but it’s something to consider.

They are both FS.

The number of the key for the boot lock is stamped on the bracket that holds the lock barrel, which is in turn attached to the boot floor by 4 screws.

FS keys were common in the 1950s & 60s and many restorers/breakers of all marques of British cars of the period will probably have stocks of old keys which have come from scrap cars over the years. I got a key for my ignition from a local Morris Minor specialist - he gave me a box with about 200 old keys in it and I eventually found the right one.

I thought the ignition had its own key and everything else used another key.
Both are the fs range.
I am sure they are available on line somewhere.
Sng Barrett will sell you a new set for a small consideration.

John,
Thanks for the information. I’ll follow up with your suggestions on the keys.
