1990 XJ6, RH rear brake pad warning wire repair

The BRAKE warning lamp came on recently. Front pads were relatively new so inspected the rear pads, OK, but found the RH brake pad sensor wire worn through and broken. Did a temporary repair with solder and a short section of wire and tie wrapped the lead back against the bleed screw until I can fit a new sensor and wire. Wire must have rubbed on the inside of the alloy wheel. I assume pads must come out to fit a new sensor. Special tools needed?

No special tools needed, the sensor is just a slip fit in the pad from memory.
