Will the ignition ECU from a 1990 XJS V12 work in a 1992 XJS V12

1992? Does it have the new design trip computer?
If it does, your ECU is the Lucas 26CU

The older 1990 model should have the 16CU. They are NOT to be swapped directly as 6CU and 16CU can interchange. The pinout is different.

I have a marelli ignition. Both ignition ECU’s look the same and they both say marelli. The number on the ECU is different. They will both plug in.

I am sorry, I misread your question. Yes, the ignition module should be the same.

Variations are based on market and cats/no cats.
Part number for US market car should be DAC6614:
