2005 X-type; Navigation, stereo and heater control died

Hi guys,

A fellow club member has reported this, along with alternating error messages:

EXT 50
EXT51 and
C1

Any wisdom on this in the group?

I don’t know about those codes, but you could try checking for a common ground and seeing if that is good.

Not being very familiar with the X-type, I mistook these “messages” for messages. I have learned they are really merely temperature readings. Don’t know about the ‘C1’, though.

Grahame, I have suggested there may be one or more bad ground connections, and also suddenly though about how sensitive modern cars are to the quality of the battery, so maybe this may be the culprit…

Have you looked at the wiring diagram? Identify the fuses, pull those and look at them.
