Just giving info on what worked for me. After a long trip locking and unlocking glove box it decided it did not want open. Latch failure. I was Able to release it by removing under panel and with inspection camera and long slim screwdriver. It was not easy to watch camera and locate plastic rod, but it did work which saved the finishes from damage. Hope this helps Repair video
