I am not sure that I have the correct dipstick.
I have a Mk I but with an E-type 3.8 liter engine —
with a 3.4 liter head! Some previous mechanic was a genius.

So what are the correct dipstick dimensions (lengths) for a
3.8 liter engine. Any difference between an 3.8 E-type and a 3.8 Mk II?
Your better off finding your own oil level mark !
Drain the oil out , let it drain over night , refill with the right amount of oil , let it sit a few hours , then check the level , you can make a small line on your dip stick with a hacksaw blade or the like .
That’s what I did , and the level is at the top of the marks on the dip stick !
