4.2 L header questions

Hello all,
Will any 4.2 L header fit any 4.2 L head? I have come across headers for sale by some vendors but they seem to be aimed solely at the E-type. They should fit my XJ’s 4.2 right?

Far as I know they are all interchangeable , I have MK2 headers on XJ6 engine !

Should fit the head, but I would expect them to be chassis specific

NO! E’s are at 90 deg. XJ’s are angled back.

I’m not concerned about the departure angle, straight down is fine. I can have a couple of pipes fabbed up. If they bolt up, that’s all I need to know.

Note that the outputs can be different…some straight and some chamfered in to take a pipe with a large olive/o ring…Steve

AFAIK, all XK exhaust manifolds fit all XK heads.
