4.2 water pump on 3.8 block

Was never too much of a problem on my race car, because after the checkered flag, there was always a cool down lap.

I have noticed on my Jeepster, after a good run on a summers day, where the coolant runs just about 200 F, after shut down, it will easily rise to about 260. I will always crack open the bonnet, swing it up an open, and let it cool that way. I have never seen it puke coolant doing that.

I know hard to believe but we had days over 40c :sunny:

I am still running a Dynamo , had no issues , electric fan , water pump, CD player , sat nav , had battery on the car over 7 years , never had to charge it up .
I put that down to the kill switch , key removed every time I get out the car !

Likewise never had an issue but it does get hot and a proactive approach best I’m sure you’ll agree. And yes I open bonnet/hood wherever possible too.

Will try 42 pump idea and my inlet manifold has full flow through all ports with no plugs. No heater. Big electric fan to accompany rad so should be just like any system in good working order.

Wiggles did you have a later XJ cylinder head in your inventory for sale? Different subject now

Thanks

No, but @Jeff_Schroeder might.
