5-speed boxes for the 420G

I know that Paul Cangialosi’s JT-5 is the best option, but he iscurrently not making them, and the assiciated parts which make it a bolt on replacement for the all synchro Jag bix and OD.
So what is the best alternative, incl ease of installation and getting the shifter in the right position?

I cannot say whether this will fit for sure in a RHD 420G, but I fitted a similar one to a S2 V12 XJ tunnel, replacing a BW12

I fitted a W57, and it was great, need to machine a flywheel centre to attach the ring gear, and I believe the original pedal box can be modified to take the clutch pedal.

I obtained the parts from another person, turned out to be the original prototypes

I fitted a Supra W57, the tunnel is very tight on 420G

  • I forgot to mention there is a Jag I6 to Ford T5 bellhousing listed

How far forward is the shifter in the 420? I’m using Paul’s bellhousing to convert my Mk2 but I’m using a full size T5. The shifter might be a few inches farther back but in the sedan there’s more room to move the shifter around.

Terry´ s stopped making the bellhousefor the 4,2 block. God knows why, and Paul Cangialosi is currently not making boxes or bell houses…:scream:

Paul C is still selling bells I just bought one a few months ago.
