Engie turns and will start but needs mechanicla worl. MONEY!!!
Maybe someone with better eyes can tell me if the rear end on this MK1 is original. I ask as it appears that the rear wheel is proud of the body towards the rear which would make the standard wheel arch unusable. I didn’t see mention of a swap to a different rear end.

The picture is not good enough for a definitive opinion.
But, as far as I see, the hub cap isa the same as the front. denoting the wheels are the same and thuslly the rear! Missing ‘spats’ make it look odd.

Could be Carl. I asked as if I recall the track on the MK1 is narrower than a MK2 and that a MK2 rear could be swapped to a MK1 which improved handling. I haven’t any experience in trying or doing that swap so maybe others could jump in and let me know if it is possible. That was my thinking when I saw it; that perhaps it isn’t the original rear.
