+1 (or 2 or 3) on Mahles. Installed them in both of my engine refreshes. Both sets sourced from SNG, the first 10 years ago and the second last month. Prices are up a fair bit but they’re a quality product.

Could you tell what piston to wall clearance you used? I seem to remember Mahle said .001"

I think 0.001" is too little: Jaguar used to recommend (IIRC) 0.015", but that was with split skirt pistons. Solid skirt pistons, I would use 0.0025".
