all but 2 of the pop rivets are hidden by the dash above the evaporator case when the unit is installed. The other two are practically under the flip down panel and covered with crinkle paint so virtually invisible.

You’re right, I would imagine that the crinkle paint would be a very effective way to deemphasize the pop rivets. Nice solution.

amazon has a Dayton 3LCH7 motor for around $70 I have bought 3 of them. Modern sealed replacement you don’t really need the cooling duct but if you use it you have file it where it goes in the square motor box
