'71 XKE S2 OTS - Parts Detail

Hi All,

Would appreciate your help with how I can determine the exact detail of parts that are no longer available (ie. screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc…).

Below are some photos of the guide that I have been using to order the many needed parts. I am now working on re-installing the door “guts”, with all of the many parts…

Some of the parts are available by our “usuals”, but some are no longer available (NLA).

How can I obtain the specs for the NLA parts? Thanks! Bob

Bob,
Are you saying the items marked with blue ink dots are NLA?

Hey John,

Bob - I decoded the hardware that used Jaguar’s standard hardware part numbers for you
14 C723/A Washer X4 -These are 3/16” split washers
18 & 28 DAZ808/8C Screw X6 -These are #8 Pan Head Sheet Metal screws 1” in length.
41 UFS.425/3H Setscrew X8 - These are fine thread round head slotted screws 1/4” diameter and 3/8” long under the head.
BD32361/5 Set Screws Stricker Plates x6 - Striker plate screws are just chrome plated flat head Philips drive screws with pointed tips to ease installation. Many of these can be sourced I believe, like these :wink:https://xks.com/i-7084203-jaguar-e-type-door-striker-screw-bd32361-5.html

Bob
Just had a look at Barratt’s site and some of these parts are available, I notice item 36 is an incomplete number and should read BD29101 and is available. Some of the screws are self tappers and they often start with DAZ, the next part is the size of screw, so 808 refers to a No.8 screw and the part after the slash is the length and if you look here are the common sizes and lengths.

The thrust washers are usually a rubber or foam ring so can easily be made at home if not available. The washers are standard size British Imperial washers and can again be purchased through an engineers suppliers. I seem to remember that one of the usual Jaguar suppliers was advertising a bags with a selection of British Imperial bolts, washer, set screws etc which covered most of the normal sizes we need for our cars. The striker plate shims are available through Barratts.

Thanks Robin, John, Tony!

Very helpful!
