A couple of months ago, my friends XKE S2 turn signal worked great. Today it no longer functions. I thought that maybe it was a bad relay canister. This evening I received a new relay.
I plugged it in and, nothing… I did notice that the relay canister was warm after several tries…
Some are easy to open up (just 3 pinches hold the canister to the base) others are more involved (crimped all around the base) but the innards are pretty simple to examine.
It is a thermal switching device so it may get warm, especially if it is stuck.
I got one from Amazon after several Lucas failures:
But it is my spare as once it arrived I tore open the Lucas can and was able to adjust it to operate correctly.
