89 xjs v12 what is this switch

Hey folks, can anyone help me identify this switch. Drivers side rear.
Side note

Notice throttle shaft bushing or lack there of.

“Idle Switch”

More accurately it’s an open throttle/closed throttle switch. The Marelli ECU has different timing maps, one being for closed throttle running. This switch sends the signal.

Cheers

Thank you Doug.
This is a beautiful 89 convertible that a friend of mine is getting ready to sell and I told him I would clean her up and give her a check up. The idle seamed to wonder a bit so started inspecting linkages / vacuum hoses and such. Found throttle bushing gone and very sloppy around this switch.

nib,

The Jaguar part number for the Idle Switch is DAC6049 just in case you need that info. The Throttle Bushing is Part Number C34388. I have had good success with the OEM Jaguar bushings. I had a difficult time trying to fit aftermarket ones because they were too hard. Others have machined their own out of nylon or brass. Lots of posts in the archives about this.

It helps with the Jaguar bush to heat it …makes it more pliable

Jim,
I agree. I heated the OEM bushings with my heat gun and they were relatively easy to insert. I also tried heating the aftermarket bushings but they were still to hard to insert and by that point too hot to handle. I had the pleasure of doing this on both of our V12 Jaguars.

Thanks guys.
I have those bushings and as you can imagine did a lot of head scratching on how to make them if. Never considered adding heat. On my project I machined down some oil lite bushings. I will give heat a try. Thanks again.

3D printer? My son is developing a produt to be made on 3 d printers.
