Hi Jag-Lovers
I have been the proud owner of a 1991 Jaguar XJ 40 for almost 18yrs, during that time i have sorted most of the usual XJ40 problems, However i have noticed that the heater controls all work and respond as intended but in sunlight the function led’s are hard to see clearly, i recall that some time ago a fellow lister described the replacement of brighter led’s.
Does anyone remember or know when and where it was on the old forum, i have tried but still unable to find the information.

I have them. It’s an easy upgrade.

[xj40] tear drop illumination on ac panel

I have been chatting off list to a lister about replacement bulbs for the tear drops. He has used a pair of superbright LEDS (1.8V Forward current 30ma) code uk19v from maplin.co.uk. He feels that these are still not that clear in sunlight but if they were much brighter they could be a nuisance at night. Have others put in brighter leds? or is this the way to go? The main purpose in doing this is to make them easier to see in daylight? Martin
