ABS Brakes Daimler DD6 MY 1991 (XJ12 Serie III)

Yeah, I hope something like that is also here…

Thanks, Aristides

As I remember it should be in the trunk or somewhere below the glovebox…

Hey There,

You have a Bosch ABS2 system.

This was used on quite a number of Mercedes, Audis, of the same time era.

Im not quite sure where Jaguar placed it, but there should be a ECBM (electronic brake control module) somewhere else in the car.

Can you please post pictures of your battery in the boot of the car as I would love
to see how Jaguar mounted the battery on these models.

At first I thought your car was modified, as another poster on the other forum had
the ABS2 system retrofitted in his car.

Look at post number seven.

But I realize now after re-reading his posts he took his inspiration from a late S3 XJ12

These systems were also used in the C4 generation Corvette, but you probably don’t have many of those en france!

Dirty sensors, bad senors would be the first things I would check out on these systems.

bon chance!

Carl

Hi Carl,

you mean Bosch the whole system, including the pump or just ECU unit?. The pump has indeed 2 Boch relays…

Attached photos of boot where they moved battery because of ABS…

Merci,

Cene

Thank you for uploading the pictures, it is much appreciated!

Is your car right hand drive?

I see other posters exMBman, davidsxj6, have identified the pump also.

Here is a picture of the c4 corvette pump, you’ll see its the same as the OP’s.

The Bosch system was a stand alone system so many manufactures got on board,
Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, GM, etc…

But I personally have never seen this system in the flesh as my xj12 experience is only limited to a 95 model, which had a different ABS system.

If you know where the controller is, maybe you can post a picture of that for the OP also.

Hvala Vam!

Carl

No, left hand drive…German market.

My ABS system is exactly the same as on photos above uploaded by Daniel.

Cheers, Cene
