Advice on pictured part please S2/3 oil housing adaptor

attached picture is an excerpt from S2 XJ6 parts manual. page 7 of 47 pdf

red arrow points to a part that is an oil filter adaptor for pipes and sender, it is made of alloy

I obtained one from a friend to complete an engine swap, but it was a loaner, so now need to
obtain a replacement.

It does not show a part number. This part is not on either of my S2 blocks

info to identify what blocks it did come off appreciated (later S2, maybe S3)?

if you can sell me one, that would be great

I recall your recent thread on this subject. You might try David at EverydayXJ.com. He has a lot of good stuff.

Do you really need the part, Tony…?

Apart from the standard oil pressure warning light, oil pressure was used for, among others, the anti run-on valve. The blocks were predrilled with two pressure outlets - the one not in use would be blocked by a blind plug. There, and at the oil filter housing, adaptors may have been used to fit different connectors - but oil filter adapters are not related to engine blocks…

Or have I misunderstood…?

On an S3, it’s C44281.

thanks for the useful answers

I needed the part to make a later engine block mate with a 420G oil filter
The engine is now fitted in the 420G, awaiting further work

I need to obtain a replacement, as the part was loaned to me on that basis

it would appear a used part will be needed

I’m sure I have one in my garage finding it may be a challenge but I will have a look tomorrow!

Hi Tony
I’ve got the 2 main parts the hollow bolt & the adapter block - yours for the cost of postage if you need them

Hi Tony
Cheapest I can find is around 16 UK pounds but I will try alternative as it is so small!

Hi Keith,

no need to chase around, that amount is fine, any “savings” can be kept by yourself mate!.

I have had quite a few items sent from UK before, and as best can remember think small items were “British Royal Mail” or similar, took about 2 weeks, but I cant remember how much

I will remit the required amount to your paypal account at your instruction

regards tony
