I did a search and did not find a definitive answer. On the 6cyl AJ16 engine is cylinder #1 in the front or the back of the engine? Try to resolve a misfire issue.

Hi Jaguar reverted to conventional numbering for the AJ series of engines so No;1 is at the front of the engine.
Robin, Thanks for the info. I also have an E type and as you correctly imply, the cylinder order is the reverse.
