Antenna replacement for SIII

Thanks Frank. Here are the supplied wiring schematic and image of what I assume is the relay mounted on DAC 4090 motor. Therefore I don’t think wiring can be made through original relay and I’m left needing some advice sorting this all out.

I should have included this…

I think you said earlier that BROWN is 12 V constant but I don’t remember which is switched. I need to incorporate all this info into a plan. Can you all help me out?

Alan,

I sent a text to your phone. Here’s my email:

I’m not sure why my messages are not reaching your email!

So would I, Alan…

If the stipled lines indicates a relay it makes no sense it may just be an ‘interconnection’ box - the antenna coax has no relation to the motor - nor has the ‘ant cable’ any relation to it…

If te top picture shows the motor it has a heap of unexplained wires - with no diagramatic relation to colours. So…?

You need to contact the vendor for explanations…? I have seen nothing like it

Hello again, Frank…
Eureka! Problem solved. Turns out the black “box” with all the wires is indeed the new relay. I simply removed old relay along with blue/white and blue/red wires. That left antenna bundle (brown, white/pink, and black). Temporarily wired brown (12+V) to red, white/pink (switched) to green, and black to ground. Extends and retracts appropriately. There is no 10 second delay with new relay. I re-read your earlier explanations and that’s what lead to resolution. Permanent wiring will come later.

Mounting the antenna with a good seal is presenting a bit of a challenge and the motor does not fit perfectly into the mounting bracket, but I’m hopeful those issues will also be resolved. Thanks for all the help…I’m sure I’ll be back…Alan

A sunshine story, Alan - well solved so far!

Motor, antenna mounted. I temporarily connected wiring and antenna extends/retracts properly. I’ll make permanent connections, manage wires, and I think I’m done…whew!
