Many thanks Chris! Did NOT know about not using citrus!
Iâve always used Naval Jelly , it removes grease and rust .Apply with a toothbrush and rinse off after a hour .
How long does it take to accumulate enough jelly to do four wheels?
Edit: Ah, naval vs navel. My error.
I never knew what naval jelly was made of.
Yikes, phosphoric acid and Sulphuric acid.
Many other wheel cleaners also have acids.
Begs the question , to use or not because of the spokes and all the places it can collect
I used it to remove rust, then I would copiously rinse it with a baking soda solution of water.
After I clean my wheels, I spray them with a anti brake dust spray that really helps

Soap and water is best. The HARD part is of course the brushing of hundreds of lil chrome wires!!
LoL
Here is before and after cleaning with Noxon, toothbrushs, rags and shoelaces. Mostly done by my wife while on the deck during a summer a long time ago.
Its safe , as long as you donât eat it .Iâve used it on my wire wheels for yrs It doesnât hurt the chrome just the rust and tar .

It takes 1-2 hrs off and on to clean a wheel .
1970 E type wheel after 2 hrs

Great picture!
I think Turtlewax for Chrome would be equally awesome-------IMHO
I use microfiberâsmall, damp and with a little Dawn xxxâinsert and push thru bit by bit using a flexible plastic tube, in places my fingers canât get toâŚ
Excellent ! Thnx Nick!
Lookin good
And using a baking powder solution as per , Paul W. to neutralize any worries of the acid remaining in the threads and other parts is a great idea
