Anybody want a really big project on an S Type with rare steel sunroof

Not my listing thankfully but have a look at this sad example.

I was there, honestly, all the way up to, project.

It has the German knock-offs. Hope there’s a tool for them with the tool kit. It might have a full syncro trans, if it’s a late model.

Phil.

Mine is VIN 76415DN made November 1964 and it has a full syncho box so this car being some 861 VINs later would have the full syncho box.

I remember reading here someplace that the drains for the sunroof ran down inside the A pillars with plastic tubes that did not last forever. So when you have replaced the rocker panels and sills you might want to replace the firewall also.
I am now driving a 2016 XF and I “kind of” miss all this excitement. My car doesn’t even have a dipstick to check the oil. 50 Years of tinkering with cars have all blown to dust.
Keep the faith,

There’s a XK150 for sale on trade me in New Zealand with a steel sunroof. I wasn’t aware they were an option but looks really good.

Some brave soul bought it for $1,850! I think the tool box was worth half of that price. I did notice there would be a lot of parts if the car was completely disassembled!
