For some reason my back up sonar dealy has started a constant tone immidiately I put the car into reverse… even when there is nothing presently behind me…it sounds at full constant tone for about 15 seconds and then stops…or as soon as I take it out of reverse…help///////Art…
I had a similar problem year or so ago. 1st place to check is the
sensors. With the car in reverse (engine off, power on; of course) put
your ear right next to each sensor, you can hear a quiet, but distinct
and audible clicking, crackling sound. If you find one (or more) that is
silent that’s the problem. Try unplugging the connection and re seating
it before you replace.I think I got a used one off evilBay.

The system is on a network and the module stores DTCs.
If you REALLY want to know what the fault(s) is/are, READ THE CODES. (or try simple sensor ‘clicking’ tests)
