BD542 Special Oval Washers

I’m sure this has been on everybody’s mind. Identifying the various oval body washers, described as Special Oval in the Mark V SPC Hardware section.
BD.542/1 is 1-5/8" x 1" x 3/32" thick with a 9/32" hole for a 1/4" bolt.
BD.542/2 is 1-5/8" x 1" x 3/32" thick with a 11/32" hole for a 5/16" bolt.
BD.542/3 is 1-1/2" x 3/4" x 1/16" thick with a 9/32" hole for a 1/4" bolt.
These are all used on Mark V front fenders (wings).
This came up when I noticed that the Mark V book says the bolts holding the chrome between the two front wings are 1/4", but mine has 5/16" bolts there.

The bolts between the front wings on a MKIV are 1/4” I would have thought the. mKV would be too

We just laser new washers… in stainlesss usually but in aluminium for competition MK.iVs … every little bit helps.

Competition Mark IVs? I never know when you’re joking or serious. :grinning:

Well, apparently whoever wrote the Mark V book copied the Mark IV book but neglected to change that item. The holes in the wings and chrome motif are big enough that I could use 3/8".

XKs Unlimited sells these oval washers because they are also used on E-Type bonnets.
