AttyDallas:
btw, I’m glad I received the CD, b/c I discovered that, contrary to prior advice, the ECU is NOT located under the floor cover of the front passenger area. Here I was about to tear into it, but see now in the repair manual on the CD that it is actually located behind the vertical upholstered panel on the right side of the foot well area. The door felt welting is loosened in that area, then the panel removed, exposing a metal panel holding the ECU. The panel is unbolted and removed, and then the ECU unbolted from it
Hi Paul:
With all due respect, please, please read carefully what other posters have said about the location of the ECU.
You asked at least 3 times before. VK, Dave and I (among several others) told you that the ECU is not in the fender, also told you that your shop “repaired” the seat control module in the passenger side footwell not the ECU, and told you that the ECU is behind the knee bolster:

My bad, I did check them but forgot to say so. Injectors are
firing ok. I do think that I have found the problem. I ran a
jumper from the battery positive terminal to the positive
coil terminal and the engine fired right up! Removing the
jumper caused the engine to quit running. So, it looks like
the culprit might be the electrical portion of the ignition
switch. I have one ordered that will be here on Monday or so
and will re…
That’s what I am fearing, too …
Well, I finally got Superblue back yesterday after
replacing the TCU with another one. The tech assured me had
taken her for a test drive and it didn’t crop up during the
drive, so it appeared finally fixed.
So, I go to drive Superblue home and get no more than a
couple of miles down the road when the issue DOES crop up,
yet again. &8-( (I also noticed the driver’s seat issue
was not fixed, or if it was then it blew another fuse
somehow during the test drive). After turning the key …
Well, I was pretty happy when the local shop called to let
me know that Superblue was ready to pick up. I went by
enthusiastically and was assured by the main tech at the
shop that he was pretty sure he found out what the source of
the ‘‘limp home’’/hard 1-2 shifts was. He said he looked at
the TCU and it appears to be pretty rusted up. He removed
it and took the box apart and ‘‘cleaned things up’’. He said
there are three connectors going to the unit and he cleaned
those connections…
Best regards and good luck with the replacement ECU.
