Don’t do it.

Keep it as a 1940’s car and enjoy it as such.


People who do this to XK120s have to cut away part of the chassis cross member to fit it in, with varying degrees of engineering expertise and success.
It looks to me like you might have to do the same on a Mark IV.
I don’t see the need of a 5 speed in a car like the Mark IV.
If your double helical gearbox is shot to pieces, put in a JH or SH type, which should be a straight swap.
