I love the newer engines, especially the Ecotech and Ecoboost and others of that ilk. I don’t care for newer cars, though; they’re all far too heavy for my taste.
In fact, SWMBO and I were discussing dream cars recently and it made me think about it, and after much thought I decided on the car I would most like to have today: A brand-new 1985 Honda CRX with the engine from the current Honda Civic R shoehorned in it. Actually, if the 2-liter didn’t fit, I’d be happy with a 1.5L or even a 1.0L – but I think we’d have to switch to non-Honda engines, perhaps a Ford Ecoboost.
Why the 1985 CRX? It’s pretty much the ONLY car that properly fits a 6’3" adult in a 2-seat car. Most 2-seat cars are designed for midgets. And 4 seats just means an inconvenient storage area when there’s only two people in the house.
