This 140 has drum brakes. I changed the brake shoes up front this summer. The pedal now goes much further down before the braking begins. I have bled them twice, with no difference in feel.
What might have happened?
Sounds like they need adjusting.

Probably need to tighten the adjuster pad nuts.
Thanks. I dont know exactly where they are, but will remove a front wheel to begin with.

You have the self-adjusting brakes.
Perhaps one or more of them are hung up with rust.
