Cam Cover Refurb

Hi everybody, I hope everyone is well and virus free.

Seeing as I’m confined to the vicinity of my house I’ve decided to refurb my cam cover.
The matt black paint is faded and flaking off in places and almost all of the red paint on the Jaguarsport badge has flaked off. I’ve ordered the gasket set and HT paints but I also want to replace the horrible cross head screws with some studs and chromed domed nuts instead.
I’m sure I’ve read on the site of someone else doing this already ? Does anyone know what size and thread those screws are so I can order the correct studs and nuts, or a length of threaded bar to cut down to make my own ?

I don’t know the size of the bolts but you can pick up a set of thread finders pretty cheap on line.

I used black allen head bolts with half neoprene washers. Very tidy.

Just make sure you get the OEM gasket and spark plug seals or be prepared to reap the job in a short space of time. The screws are probably 8mm but I’m guessing there.

I would say they are 6mm but I can check this for sure tomorrow and post back here.
