Camshaft Timing

Managed to very carefully run a small 3 cornered file, one or two strokes on each of the plate teeth at an angle of about 45 degrees. This took away the burr off and allowed the part to mesh with the sprocket…yipee.

Adjusted the inlet cam to the correct setting, exhaust was perfect, buttoned up everything filled with coolant and fired up. Run the engine at about 1500 for 10 minutes…no water or oil leaks evident. Will allow to cool overnight then re tension the head, adjust the timing and set the carbs…and finally out for a drive.

Thanks to all for the help along the way, there has been several posts, very much appreciated.
