Carburetter returnspring

Hello, can anybody tell me where to install the return-spring on a 3.8 engine with HD6 carbs?
It is a XK 150 DHC 3.8 LHD 1-1960
Thank you in advance. Kees Jaspers

On both carbs there is a lever with a hole for the spring.
On the bottom of the carbs there should be a Y shaped bracket for bottom of the spring
This is the same on both my XK140 and XK150 (3.8)

Here a very old picture before I restored my XK150, but you van see the top spring attaching point

Hello Peter Jan,
I will check the attachment this afternoon and call SNG for further advice, thank you for your reply.
By the way I live in Vinkeveen,so thaks again

Hi Kees,

According the Jaguar parts catalog, your carbs have lever AUC 8405 which looks like this.

Earlier XKs use a brass lever like the AUC 3120 which looks like this.

Like Peter Jan mentioned, the other end of the Spring is attached to a steel bracket. The early versions were “single” whereas the later ones had a Y shape and used two mounting points on the carbs.

Hope this will help you.

OK Bob Knijnenburg, in the meantime I had already a mail with the solution, but your reply is
very good with the pictures.Thank you for that, greetings Kees Jaspers - Vinkeveen
