Changing MK1 to rear disc Brakes

Can anyone comment on the feasibility of installing discs brakes on the rear of a mk1 without using a Mk2 axle?

I did read that disc brakes where a optional extra on the MK1 from about 1957 , so there may be a MK1 with disc brakes axle laying about !!

I know there is one laying about in my back yard, a '58 MK1 with disc brakes and wire wheels. My first car ever.

Parts for sale off it? I would be interested if you are not too far away.

You may have whatever you can use from it. I’m in central New Jersey.

Hello Phil.
MK11 hubs will fit. My preference is to fit MK11 caliper brackets MK11 handbrake cable with compensater and shorten the two cables to the handbrake calipers to suit.
What do you have at the front?
What servo, early or late? Again my preference is the later S type servo.
Peter.

Wow thank you Peter. can I drop you a private mail?

Keep it clean.
Peter.
