The combined reverse light/number plate light/trunk lid handle has lots of really small stains in the chrome. I think the material is Mazak which I know is hard to rechrome, but perhaps worth a try. What do others have to say?
No actual pits but tons of tiny marks
yes, Mazak.
You would need to speak to the chrome specialist
If yours is good, I would be reluctant to do anything with it
I have about 10 of these, most of which are NOS dealer items…none are perfect
most have some “lumps” or pits
Mine has lumps. But I can live with them as I understand it’s easy to stuff them up in the rechroming.
it seems to come from within. I spoke to a couple of experienced guys, but its very labor intensive…every lump or pit has to be soldered, smoothed and triple chromed
SNG do new one’s , at about £160 !
Really? And top quality?
They stopped selling the hi torque starter as their manufacturer has stopoed
making them
I had mine rechromed at ACF Howell in the UK. Top job. Old School. No website. Phone them. Dave
Greetings All,
I had a new one cast in red brass and then chromed.
New ones from vendors could be done the same way but I doubt people would pay the cost.
