[collectibles] Automobilia auction?

Will there ever be an auction? I’ve been dreaming of a few of those items
for a long time now!

Thanks,

Daniel Thompson

Hi Daniel,

I can only say I am reely, reely trying!

You will have read on my website, a hint of the probs I’ve been having. Well
they are over now, but it left me with a mega backlog to sort out. I also
made a rod for my own back in continuing to accept lots for the auction long
after I should sensibly have brought down the guillotine.

The other prob is that I had forgotten exactly how much I had accepted!
Every box I open seems to contain twice as many items as I remember!

I have been here before, but I think I am about two-thirds of my way through
the catalogue. Tony Bailey, my webmaster, has the first completed section of
the catalogue with him at the moment, to sort out settings etc. for when the
full catalogue goes on-line. He also has a stack of photos heading his way,
to put up on my website as soon as he has finished a major rework of the
JagLovers site that he also looks after. With a bit of luck, the photos
should be up early next week. That will at least give some clear proof of
progress - rather than me just talking about it!

I hesitate to give a deadline for completion as i have let people down too
often before. Also, the last lap is a little out of my hands as my printer
gathers together a group of smaller jobs, like mine, together and puts them
all through the machine together. However, it usually takes him less than a
week to make up a suitable set, so that should not be a major hurdle.

In the meantime, I shall post progress reports on my website and, in
particular, will flag up two days - first, the day my stuff goes to the
printer and, second, the day the hard copy catalogue mails. So do keep an
eye open on the website.

Needless to say, if you have any queries like this for me, you should not
hesitate to mail me direct in the way you have.

Hope that makes things a little clearer.

Ian Cooling

I have about 300 brochures at home if anyone is interested. Ranging from mid 60’s
E-type (through to a good number of V-12 E brochures). Also XJS and XJ-sedan to
about '87. Even have a couple of brochures that have not been shown on any web
sites I have seen, like the official XJS launch invitations, as mailed out by
U.S. dealers to their preferred clients, the “stainless steel” brochures for XJS,
etc.

These are not part of my business, rather part of my collection of Jaguaria. If
anyone has a SPECIFIC brochure or model/year they are interested in, drop me a
line and I will check if I have extras. Trades welcome.

Hi!

I have '82 Daimler Vanden Plas 4.2 and would like very much to get in
possession of a brochure or anything related to my car.

Dima, all I have are US-specification brochures. Daimler models are not part of
the collection. I do have, however, some XJ/VDP brochures from that time frame.

I would be interested in a '74 V-12 E. If there’s an extra drop me a line.
