[collectibles] Cooling system part needed for XK120

Just back from my regular trip to the restoration shop, and the
reproduction thermostat housing that bolts to the radiator was WAY
OFF, the flange is more than 1/4 inch too thick, almost double the
correct thickness. Does anyone have recent experience purchasing
this casting from a source that they have determioned has the
correct dimension ?

BTW, I am aware that the one I have might be remachined; trust that
I have my reasons for asking about an alternative to that option.

The reason for the extra thickness is caused by experience of the original
thickness being too thin and corroding, this was weak spot on this early
thermostat.-----Original Message-----

You would have better response if you posted this to the XK
forum. COLLECTIBLES is for Jaguar related items but not for
specific car questions.–
