[collectibles] Jaguar Cups And Saucers

My nan had a set of 6 Jaguar cups and saucers given to her in the
late 60’s early 70’s by a Jaguar worker. They passed onto my dad
but I havent seen them for years. I was wondering if anyone knew
anything about them. They were bluish with gold rims. thanks–

Hi Danny,

These sound like items from a presentation set that was issued to dealers,
VIPs and good customers in the mid-1960s and early 70s. They were presented
in a dark blue heavy card box with silk fittings and a metallic silver
Jaguar head on the cover - exactly like the one on the front of the large
dark blue Mark X brochure. The cups and saucers are sometimes still in their
original plastic wrappers.

The set was made by Coalport China and was in their “Camelot” design. The
base of the cups (and perhaps the saucers though I can’t remember) had the
word “Jaguar” under two leapers.

The key to value is the box. The cups and saucers alone are a fraction of
the value of a boxed set.

Hope this helps.
