[collectibles] Models (non Jaguar)

Listers,

Well, given the results of the Matchbox set…

I’ve been thinking of putting my collection of ca. 200 Ferrari-models on
eBay, even though I’m in South Africa, which might cause bidders to be
reluctant.

What is the consensus of the list?

Replies also to me directly please, I’m on the digest!

Jack:

I don't know that South Africa will be an issue per se, especially

for Ferrari people. The only way to know is to try.

International transactions are becoming quite common on E-Bay. My

suggestion, though, is to use paypal or billpoint to deal with payment.
International money orders cost too much, and will turn off potential bidders.

Regards,
MIke

I agree, most people will not worry where you are. You might find it
worthwhile to say approximately what the carriage etc to the USA might be if
that is where it was one.

As Mike says, PayPal or Billpoint are very worthwhile. I’ve had no trouble
with either but you will may pay a few percent in charges as the seller
depending on how you set them up. If they are really valuable (they must be
surely?), offer for a wire transfer to your bank as an additional option.
