[collectibles] Re: Collectibles Digest V1 #25

Hi Josh!

To the best of my knowledge (having collected these things for over 25
years) SS Cars did not issue any bound brochures for these years. Exact
dating can be a little confusing due to the model year (MY) spanning two
calendar years. To the best of my knowledge, the lead ad material for
MY1931/32 was the two salmon pink, black and white complex folders - one
each for the SS1 and SS2. The MY1932/33 effort was a shaded green, white and
black complex folder. MY1933/34 saw the first bound brochure, supplemented
by a large complex folder.

However, that said, one thing 25 years of collecting has told me that there
are always little surprises in store, so please regard this as a comment
rather than any definitive view! Either way, hope it is of some help.

Best regards,

Hi

Does anyone know if Jaguar ever definitely issued ‘large’ catalogues for
the
years 1932 and 1933? I don’t see any on the web site but an Andrew Swift
refers to them as existing in an article in an old JEC magazine about
brochures. Is Andrew Swift a member of this list?

Thank you for your response, I found most of the brochures you mention on
the list’s web site - I see from your own web site that you run a Jaguar
collectables auction, when is the next one due out? Would there be any early
material like this in it?
