[collectibles] Re: Jag Lover's Business Cards/Publicity

We’ve been doing that with the Jaguar Toruing Club (my local JCNA club) for
about a year. I have a bunch of calling cards in my wallet, club info on
one side, and the year’s schedule of events on the other. I slip them under
the wipers of any Jag I spot in the parking lots, all our officers
supposedly do this. We’ve picked up a couple of new members, but it’s been
far from a spectacular success. It would be cheaper and more effective if
Jag-Lovers just bought an ad in the Jaguar Journal, IMHO.

I have an idea that will probably work to gain new members.
I say we print business cards with the Jag-Lover’s logo and Web address on
them. Then people can buy a few, and hand them out to potential new members.
I’m not saying to hand them out to everyone and anyone, but whenever I talk
to fellow Jag owners, every one of them has not heard of Jag-Lovers, but
they are interested in the site.

Jag-lovers is a voluntary organisation that doesn’t have any money so
we can’t pay for adverts. Can’t you follow up your suggestion and give
us a free advert (or publicity if you have a connection with that
magazine like the JEC magazine are?)

Jag-lovers is also where the few willingly donate their time and/or
resources where available for the common good. So if anyone else out
there runs a magazine or is willing to help, we could do with a
donation of suggested adverts.

Likewise, our local (West Sussex) JEC had thousands of lightweight
cards printed and donated by a member that we carry round with us.
Jag-lovers needs someone to do the same (I have a volunteer off-list
already from a USA printer member - thanks! However, as I know from
experience it takes money to send these round the world for
distribution so we could do with more than one offer possibly.)

Remember, anyone out there can help, publishes a Jaguar-related
magazine, or knows a publisher or editor or if you have access to a
website - please get them to publicise/put a link on to Jag-lovers and
make our efforts worthwhile.

Tony:

It's not in my power to offer a free ad in Jaguar Journal, you'd have to

persuade the powers that be at JCNA. However, I do have a link on the
Jaguar Touring Club website, and it’s probably time for me to write an
article for our newsletter.
