[collectibles] Wanted DieCast S-Type (old style)

Bounced - HTML format------
Does anyone know where I can locate a die cast replica of an early S-Type? I
have seen almost everything except an old style S-Type.

I too have wanted one of these since I was 10. So I haven’t seen one in
35 years. A few dealers have offered to locate one for me, but never came
up with the goods.

OK, I was bored and though I would do a little surfing.

This article seems to indicate that one was never made:-

“Omissions seem to be the norm within the diecast model record of Jaguar saloons
and such is the case for 1963’s S-Type. Championed as a modernized Mark 2, the
S-Type was bestowed with tastefully freshened styling and, perhaps most
importantly, a fully independent rear suspension system adapted from the E-Type.
Nevertheless, the S-Type never captured the imagination of the car buying public
as the Mark 1 and Mark 2 had (the S-Type and Mark 2 being sold side-by-side for
years) and somewhat consequently no diecast manufacturer ever bothered to offer
a miniature of this very deserving and always under-rated car.”

I did find a Pewter one though at http://www.apoogee.com/ModelShop/order.mv
although the picture is too small to see it really.

Regards

Richard
