[collectibles] XJ6 1990 Die Cast

Hello,

I am the mother of the fantastic Jag-lover (Johnathan) who went to
China a while back and I asked him to help me get in contact with
all you wonderful people who know so much about the world of
Jaguars. My boyfriend has a 1990 XJ6 and has made a comment that he
has not been able to find a die cast of his vehicle. He said that
he was told that they don’t make them. I was wondering if that
might be true or is there somewhere out there that I might be able
to find one. His birthday is the 31st of this month and I would
love to give him one. If anyone can help me with this, I would be
most appreciative. Any information at all will be great. I am not
really sure how to work this forum and if I am posting incorrectly,
then please let me know.

Thank you so very much for all your help,

I had a die cast model of the XJ6. It was produced by an American toy mfg
like Mattel. It came with a display platform and a booklet that described
the technical data for the car. I put it in the Dutch auction at our club’s
last year’s Christmas party so It’s in someone else’s hand

Thank you, Harry. At least I now know that they do exist. I will
keep searching and see if one will show up. Maybe the owner of the
one you donated will be willing to part with it if they see this
forum. It is a long shot, but stranger things in life have happend.
Thank you again for your quick reply.

Hello Jan,

I suggest you email Gary Oxley here in the UK from the Jaguar Model
Club - he will almost certainly be able to help you. They certainly
made a 1990 model but I think it was an XJR - Ice Blue from memory
and came from a Provence Moulage kit.

Oh, Thank you Tony,

I am so happy to get some good news. At least I still have a trail
to follow. I will check in with Gary and see what we can find. I am
sorry for the delay in reply. My work schedule is a bit crazy right
now. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Thank you again, Jan–

I noticed your question the other day. Even though it has been a
while since your query, I thought I’d mention that I noticed
SEVERAL diecast XJ6 currently on ebay. There as even a bit of
colour selection. BUT, I should mention, they were all in race
trim. Which mainly means they have decals on them, which could
probably be removed if desired…
At any rate… Just FYI…
