Can someone please let me know the full details of the Caswell Plating
Manual so I can order a copy. It is still in print? I would like a
reference like this for my research on XK originality. Regards, John

Having read the manual front to back, and excepting that I obviously
ignored the part about Butler nickel, I’d say it would be of little use to
you in determining XK originality.

The yellow bound (at least my two are yellow) Caswell plating manual tells
you how to set up tanks to plate various finishes and provides techniques
for plating. Also in included are the MSDS pages telling you not to drink
the stuff. If you want to learn how to plate nickel, zinc, chrome and
copper, it’s worth reading. Aside from that, I don’t believe I’ve ever
seen anything substantial referencing specific cars in these pages.
