[concours] Powder Coating

I am trying to determine the strongest adhesive material to place a permanent
advertising label on my powder coated steel rod chairs. Might you know
something about this and the chemical composition of powdercoating. Is it
plastic? Thanks for taking a minute to help me out.

Sounds like a question for 3M.

Would it be a terrible thing from a concours perspective to powder coat certain parts in lieu of painting? For example, the heater “snail box” on a Series I ?

Cy:
I powder coated the heater box on my '63ots, and was not happy with the
“dimpled” finish created. It was then very hard stuff to re-flatten, and
paint to get a “smooth” surface. I used a black gloss powder the first
time, and re-coated it with Glassurit (BASF) acrylic-urethane gloss
black the second time around.

just my experience.
