Ron,
That was the position of the US Government. They followed the lead of the
Germans. I happen to think the earless spinners are one of the few new
elements of the Series 2 cars that looks better than its Series 1
equivalent. I’m also removing the Amco bars and the wing mirrors are
already gone. I will use clip ons for driving.

Anyway, yeah, it’s a safety issue - that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
And I can see why. If you happened to stick your hand next to one of those
eared hubs while the wheel was at speed, it’d be much more hazardaous than
the earless spinners. Myself, I’d be worried about the spokes.

Please explain.
I don’t understand how they are dangerous (outside of the cost of
rechroming…).
Has there ever been an injury?
