[concours] Scoring Question

How are the national Concours standings determined?

I have shown my 1988 XJ12 in two shows so far and am planning a third before
the end of the year. I have browsed through the rule book but can not seem
to find the method by which the final standings are determined. Are all my
scores to be averaged together? Is there a minimum number of shows I must
compete in?

Hopefully someone can point out where in the rule book this is explained.

The national score is the average of your best 3 scores and you must have 3
entries or more to qualify.

I’m still a little bit confused about regional, I believe it’s the average
of the best 2 scores and you need only 2 to qualify. National winners are
excluded from regional standings.

Your question comes at the right time since I am currently finishing a
scoring program for the JCNA web site which will allow us to provide updated
provisional national standings on the web throughout the year.

The first standings will be posted on www.jcna.com as soon as I get the
missing scores from a few club, hopefully by the end of the week.

Scores from about 12 concours are already available in the Standings section
of the site.

Just as a side light to this question, I placed third nationally last year
and never heard or received anything from JCNA. Shouldn’t there be some kind
of award or trophy for this.

National scores are the average of at least 3 regional scores. Regional
average is of two regional shows attended. If you go to more than 3 shows
you use only the top three scores.

Jim,
Go to the JCNA web site and you’ll find a listing of all the chairmen of
various committees. There is an “Awards Chairman” I think. I was third last
year in C12 and got a neat little silver mug.

I tried the website and it lists Tom Palisi as the head of the special
awards committee but the email address they listed for him came back
undeliverable. Sent email to two others, other committee members and
regional director and still haven’t heard a thing. Oh well, the name on the
website and in the Jaguar Journal was nice.
