Convertible top pin beading

I’m ready to shape the pin beading on the top b hood and then send it to chroming, can you post photos of the shape of the edges?

Ehab, if you mean the shape of the terminal ends of the pin bead, I rounded mine into somewhat of a bullet shape. If you’re using a U-shaped, lead-filled pin bead, you may need to fold the ends together and then finish the joints with silver solder before final shaping with a fine file.

I opted to use solid brass 3/8 inch half-round for pin bead. I bent the half-round to the shape of the wood header bow, drilled the half round, and then soldered in brass nails. Because the pin bead was solid brass, it was easier to form the rounded bullet shaped ends.

Thanks Mike, this helps. I wasn’t sure whether to keep full thickness and just round it or tapered it down a bit? I am using a I shaped brass and lead filled beading from Bill Bassett

Here’s a photo of the pin bead end from a used piece of XK pin bead. This is the shape I tried to copy when I made my pin bead.

This is what I needed. Thank you!
