Coolant Hoses, Late SIII

I’m going to dive in to a complete coolant hose replacement. The bottom hoses look older and slightly bulged.

Is this a comprehensive list of all the hoses needed, 13 all together? This is what I came up with from Moss Motors. Total $92.57.

Top Hose (Diagram #6)
#CAC2326
$8.99

Bottom Hose, R/H (7)
#C41097
$13.99

Bottom Hose, L/H (8)
#C41096/2
$9.99

HOSE, bypass (9)
#C41356
$3.89

Hose, Heater (11)
#C41351/2
$3.89

Hose, Cooling (12)
#EAC2928/7
$1.99

Hose, To Atmospheric Tank (38)
#CAC5133
$2.19

Hose, To Radiator (39)
#C36175/11
$7.49

Hose, To Radiator (43)
#CAC4251/1
$4.39

Heater Hose, Core To Valve (54)
#C45016
$4.89

Hose, Heater To Return Pipe (55)
#C43896
$17.99

Hose, Valve To Heater (56)
#CCC6343
$8.99

Hose, Pipe To Water Pump(57)
#C41351/2
$3.89

(cleaned up their parts diagram, removing the SI and SII specific parts)

Jagbits has a kit, but they don’t specifically mention what hoses are included. That kit is $223.42. Seems like the difference is not that there are more pieces in the Jagbits kit vs Moss Motors, but that the individual hoses are more expensive (e.g. Bottom Hose R/H is 1$13.99 on Moss and $24.35 for aftermarket or $47.27 for OEM at Jagbits). Any reason to not just go with aftermarket from Moss?

Anything else I should do while I’m at it?

For peace of mind I’d do the heater hoses (you have these already on your list) and the fuel lines at the same time.
Good luck

I would replace the heater valve as well.

I have always had good luck with Moss and better luck with XKs Unlimited after Moss bought them.

They have a long warranty and are very good about returns if you are dissatisfied.

That’s what I was planning on. Pulling the injectors and sending them to SD too. Might as well make the most of the down time.

Heater Valve was replace in 2012 (~2000 miles). So I’m assuming I’m good on that. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Belts, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, and spark plugs were replaced November of last year (<1000 miles).

9 is pure horror to replace and 38 is not pressurized so not critical.
I got a complete kit (with 3 more parts than needed for my model) for €84 in 2017 and it has held up well. I’d say shop around. Moss will work just as well I’m sure.

I’d add vacuum hose for the heater valve and fuel pressure regulator to the order. Make sure you have both the fuel hose for the rail and the different size for the main feed, and don’t forget the short hose at the very front of the engine.

Are Heater Hose (#11 above) and Pipe to Water Pump Hose (#57) the same hose?

And a correction from earlier. Jagbits has an aftermarket kit for $89.95. Their OEM kit is $223.42.

Um yes, they are the same. I’d go aftermarket, I tend to go cheap and the quality seems to be fine :slightly_smiling_face:
