Crankshaft positioning sensor

So I hooked up my OBD and got the code P1336 which should be the crankshaft positioning sensor. I checked out the operation of the sensor and it fits the symptoms I have. Now comes the hang up. I have searched high and low for the sensor and can’t find it. I found two sensors on the front of the engine which I believe, from there positions, are for the cam shafts. Where exactly is the crankshaft positioning sensor. If I understand how it functions it should be somewhere on the bell housing in order to read the flywheel rotation. But where?

This might help

I believe the OP is asking for help RE a V8 XJL.

I HATE MYSTERY CARS!(make,model,year)

Me to lol.

If it’s the V8 then it’s at the back, where the engine and transmission meet.

Try a google search

Bio states XJ8 1998

If its in the same place as the ‘S’ its pointing at the flex plate on the right hand side of the engine looking forwards.
