hello my cup holders bang down quickly,sure they will break as hit them accidentally all the time.
i see that they should come down slowly the same as the cigar lighter cover and the glove box,as mine does.but not the cup holders.how do i fix this.thank you

There are little plastic ‘dampers’ that look like gears with teeth. You either have missing or failed dampers.
The long ‘toothed’ black plastic extensions might be damaged? or displaced?

The entire cupholder mechanism is available for replacement. Not terribly expensive- less than $70. That being said, once fixed they still do not work very well, as far as keeping the drinks from spilling.
I’m currently testing a different option- using a BMW cupholder that I’ve used on other cars. Might be an option, or something like this (click on pictures to expand view).
