Dead Cat..no start

Anybody got any input on this…

'97 XJ300 4.0L AJ16.

Cranks but no start. fuel appears at the injection rail joint, and EasyStart doesn’t even produce a cough.

Not battery

Pretty sure now it’s not earth thought still checking.

diconnected crank position sensor shows 2.25 V across input connector (?) … is htis the problem …CKPS is Hall type ( dumb ) sensor …should be 0V on lead to it? could the stray 2.25V be coming from damaged ECU ? …presumably 2.25v is close to or even more that the actual expected output of CKPS and therefore probably the cause of the non start?

Without addressing all of your cryptic, non punctuated notes, I will tell you that the CKPS is not a hall effect device but rather is a coil and magnet. The teeth of the rotor chop the magnetic field and induce a small voltage in the coil.
I believe the measured coil resistance should be about 1000 ohms, but even coils with good resistance have been reported to be defective.
Good luck.
